1. Review the overview screen

   When you first open your course you will see the overview screen.

   

2. Access content

   At any time you can select the Start Content to go directly to the Syllabus.

   

3. Read course information

   On the Overview you may also expand Course Information to read additional information about the learning product.

   

4. Access troubleshooting and FAQs

   Open the Troubleshooting and FAQs accordion for:

   • A link to AHIMA Answers - 
     • Further instructions
     • Troubleshooting guides
     • FAQs about AHIMA products and services
     • Support ticket access
   • The course navigation guide for this product.

   • You may bookmark these resources if you wish.

     

    

1. Read the Syllabus
   • When selecting Start Content from the Overview screen, you will first be brought to the course Syllabus.
   • Alternatively, if you selected My Progress, begin your course by selecting the Syllabus item.
   • Read through the syllabus before beginning your work on the domains to learn important details about the course.

   • When you are done, select the Next button found bottom right.

     

2. Bookmark links found in "Any Questions?"
   • After the Syllabus, "Any Questions?" is the next item found within the Course Home unit.
   • It contains the same information and links found in the "Troubleshooting and FAQs" content you may have noted on the Overview screen:
     • A link to AHIMA Answers - 
       • Further instructions
       • Troubleshooting guides
       • FAQs about AHIMA products and services
       • Support ticket access
     • The course navigation guide for this product

   • It is recommended that you bookmark these resources.

     

3. Navigate to Domain I
   • After reviewing the "Any Questions?" information, you can select Next to jump right into Domain I.

   

4. Start your first Pretest
   • After selecting the Next button from the "Any Questions?" you will lane on the Domain I Pretest.

   • See the "Taking the Pretests and Practice Exam" section below to learn how to navigate these assessments.

     

1. Read the assessment introduction information
   • When you first access the assessment, you will see the title at the top and may need to scroll down to see the introduction text (also referred to as "instructions"). 
   • The Introduction includes information about the domain or exam, including how many questions are in the assessment.
   • Scrolling down you will see "get started" tips, as well as the same Troubleshooting or FAQs links included on the Overview screen and "Any Questions?" item (which you may have already bookmarked).

   

2. Begin or resume the assessment
   • Scroll down to find the Begin or Resume button.

   • Once you select Begin or Resume, your assessment will start.

     

3. Answer assessment questions
   • After clicking Begin or Resume the screen will refresh and you will see the introduction again.

   • Scroll down to find the assessment questions.

     

4. Review and submit your answers
   • The Submit button is located on the right below the final question.
   • When you select Submit, a warning message will appear that says one of two things:
     • The message will warn you if you have any unanswered questions. Select Cancel to go back and answer them.
     • If you have answered all questions already, the message will advise that you cannot change answers after you submit. Select Cancel if you want to take another look at your answers, or Submit if you are ready.

   

5. View quiz results
   • After submitting, a progress wheel appears while your quiz is auto-graded.
   • Then, after a few seconds, the Results page is populated. 
   • At the top of this page you will see your score percentage, points, and how much time this attempt took you.

   • Scroll down to see information for each question, including the answer you selected, indication of whether you answered it correctly, what the correct answer is, and a rationale in the "Feedback" area.

     

     

6. Making another attempt
   • If you did not get a passing score and have attempts left, you may scroll to the top of the Results page and select the Take Now button.
   • This will take you back to the assessment instructions/introduction, where you can once again select Begin to start your next attempt.

   

7. Reviewing the Resources list
   • If you score less than 70% on a pretest, it is recommended that you review the Resources list for that Domain to find materials that will help you study further.

   • From the Results page, you may select the Next button found lower right.

     

      

Once you are done taking the Domain Pretests and reviewing Resources lists, you will be ready to consider the Preparing for the Exam tips, attempt the Practice Exam, and complete the Course Survey. 

1. Access the Course Completion unit

   • From the Domain VI items, you can simply use the Next button found lower right to access the Course Completion unit.

     

2. Take the Practice Exam
   • If you are viewing the Preparing for the Exam item, use the Next button to reach the Practice Exam.
   • The "Taking the Pretests and Practice Exam" section of this guide above covers everything you will need to know about taking the assessment itself.

   

3. Take the Course Survey
   • AHIMA kindly requests that you complete the Course Survey after you have finished the Practice Exam.

   • After reviewing your exam results use the Next button to navigate to the survey.

     

1. Use the top left options as needed when viewing content
   • In the top left corner of the interface you will see three buttons:
     1. The left-hand most hamburger button (three lines without dots) opens a lightbox-style panel with platform-level navigation options.
     2. The left facing arrow will bring you to the My Progress page view of your learning product.
     3. The button on the right-hand side of these three options opens and closes the My Progress left-hand navigation panel.

   

   1. Understand the platform level options 
      • The Home button will bring you to a dashboard view of all learning products you have purchased from AHIMA. On this page you will also see notifications, skills, time spent on the platform, and a count of completed activities.
      • Use the Learn dropdown My Content link to view a condensed view of your learning products. 
        • Use the In Progress, Saved, and Completed tabs to filter your content.
      • Notebook is not an applicable tool for this learning product.
      • Skillspace is an area you can use to track your skill profile. While a useful tool, please note that information tracked here is not transferred to the MyAHIMA Hub or otherwise recorded as part of your AHIMA profile. It is only for your personal use within the AHIMA online learning platform.
      • If AHIMA has a message for you regarding your learning product it will be pushed out through the Inbox. However, outgoing messages are not an applicable use of this tool for RHIT Exam Prep. Use the AHIMA Answers knowledge base to find instructions, troubleshooting guides, and FAQs about AHIMA's products and services. You can also use the AHIMA Answers page to submit support tickets as needed.

      

   2. Using the left facing back arrow
      • Select the left arrow in the upper left-hand corner to go to the My Progress page view of your learning product.
      • Unlike the My Progress left-hand panel, the My Progress page view shows a complete outline of the learning product.

      

   3. Using the My Progress panel button.

      • The button on the right-hand side of the three options in the upper left opens and closes the My Progress left-hand navigation panel.

        

2. Use the top bar navigation
   • Top bar navigation options include the following:
     • The Overview link will return you to the opening course page.
     • The Scores link can be used to view your current scores on pretests and the Practice Exam, which will be the highest scoring attempt of all attempts made for a specific test so far.
       • Your Total score is only based on the Practice Exam.
       • You may sort scores by name by clicking on the "Name" label at the top of that column. 
     • Notes is not an applicable feature for this learning product.
