What is auto-renew?

Auto-renew is a convenient way for members to manage their annual dues payments by authorizing the American Health Information Management Association (“AHIMA”) to automatically charge the payment method provided for applicable annual membership dues on the member’s renewal date.

Who is eligible for auto-renew?

Auto-renew is available to all professional member types (Professional, Premier, Global and Emeritus). Auto-renew is not available to students.

When will my card be charged?

AHIMA will charge the member’s credit card for the applicable annual membership dues on the member’s renewal date. Each successful renewal payment will extend the member’s AHIMA membership for an additional one (1) year from the applicable renewal date.

How will I be notified before a charge?

Members enrolled in auto-renew will receive an email reminder notification approximately seven (7) days prior to the scheduled renewal date informing the member that their membership will automatically renew on the renewal date using the payment method on file.

What payment methods are accepted?

All major credit card types are accepted as a part of enrollment in auto-renew.

What happens if my payment is declined?

If a renewal payment is declined, AHIMA will notify the member via email and request that the member update the payment method associated with their account through their AHIMA Store Profile. If valid payment information is not provided within thirty (30) days of the failed transaction, the membership may be terminated. A member whose membership has been terminated due to non-payment may rejoin AHIMA through the AHIMA Store and may elect to enroll in auto-renew at that time.

How do I opt-in or out of auto-renew?
